This is Middle America.
Even we artsy-types put in long hours.
Our name, The Flatland, is an homage to the blue-collar, big-shouldered, work ethic you’ll find across the heartland. Like the farmers and factory workers who raised us, we’re hands on, we’re deliberate, and we take pride in building useful things.
Today we work for clients close to home and far away. We approach every rebrand, ad campaign, and marketing effort with rolled-up sleeves and Midwestern resolve.

We are an idea agency.
Smart thinking transcends medium. That’s why we’re not a digital agency. Or a traditional agency. Or any other kind of narrowly-defined agency.
Our niche, if you’re looking for one, is formulating strong and differentiating big ideas. We then apply those ideas across the best media for our clients’ needs—whether it’s digital marketing, traditional advertising, guerrilla tactics, or anything else.
We believe focusing on any particular medium would be a disservice to clients.

Stand for something.
The Flatland is an advertising agency that abhors ignorable, uninspired work. We believe your comfort zone—in the long run—is the most dangerous spot in the world. So we build brands that look, speak, and act in ways that get them noticed.
